The reason I say this is because to push past that elo requires a change in thought, the way you play the game fundamentally changes, I feel like 1800s+ see the board in another dimension and you cannot learn that yourself, it has to be shown to you, explained to you in person over the course of hundreds of hours. I may be speaking ahead of myself but I kinda feel like 1,600 - 1,800 is pretty much the absolute limit one can achieve before tutoring is mandatory for progression. ![]() I must have played 5000+ games and I still hang pieces, I still lose winning endgames and I'm STILL rated ~1,600 in 5+3 blitz and ~1,700 in 15+15.
